What began in 2023 with the concert performance of ‘Rheingold’, continued in 2024 with ‘Die Walküre’ and is now being continued with the production of ‘Siegfried’ can be considered a benchmark for Wagner interpretation. The project ‘The Wagner Cycles’ is dedicated to Richard Wagner's monumental opera tetralogy in a unique fusion of science and practice. The result of this spectacular sound workshop and the historically informed view of Wagner's epochal music theatre work was celebrated as revolutionary in Dresden as well as on tour through European music centres. In the third part of the ‘Ring’, the ‘Siegfried’, images of nature and the vivid depiction of plot elements show Wagner at the height of his expressive possibilities as a painter of sound. The newly acquired transparent orchestral sound and the focus on the linguistic realisation by the singers will also provide a new kind of listening experience in 2025.
